I don’t know about you, but for the last week or so I have struggled to keep warm! I have wrapped myself up in so many layers, wraps, cardigans, even my dressing gown and still not been a able to get to a comfortable temperature.
But it is possible to keep warm and still be stylish. It is just a matter of choosing the right fabrics and putting them together so as not to look as if you have put all the clothes in your wardrobe on at once!
One way to keep the warmth in is to wear a belt. We used to live in Worcestershire and our next door neighbour was an old farmer. He always wore a brush cotton shirt, a wool jumper and a wool jacket – all tied around the middle with a piece of bailer twine (strong string). He swore that that piece of string was what kept him warm all winter long – that and natural fabrics! And he was right – wearing a belt not only elevates a look and creates an interesting outline, it also keeps in the warmth. Give it a try!
Here are some more ideas of outfits to be stylishly warm this winter.
Wearing a wool dress is such an easy way to look instantly put together with minimum effort. Add a furry jacket and a pair of velvet loafers and you have the perfect work from home outfit, which will keep you warm and comfortable.

This coat is wonderful and very "on trend" with the fringing at the bottom. It is the kind of garment you can wear inside or out, layer with other wraps and scarves, wear with jeans or smart workwear and it will see you from season to season with ease.
